The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (part of the newly merged charity Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care) is calling on people to dig out and donate all their old ‘70’s clothing and accessories to provide outfits for the hundreds of walkers in its fifth annual Goodnight Walk.
Taking place in Amersham at midnight on Saturday 18th June, the Goodnight Walk this year is aiming to be the biggest ‘70’s Party in the Chilterns and IRHH are calling on the public to donate either genuine ‘70’s gear or unwanted fancy dress outfits to Iain Rennie shops throughout the region. Everyone who signs up for the Goodnight Walk will be encouraged to go along to their local Iain Rennie shop to kit themselves out for the event.
The walk will start and finish at the Polish Club in Amersham where the ‘70’s atmosphere will be in full swing. There will be a 10 mile and a 5 mile route and men and women can both sign up for the route of their choice to enjoy a great ‘70’s style stroll while raising money to help fund the Iain Rennie home nursing service.
IRHH Community Fundraiser, Ruth Barber commented:
"We really want to create a great atmosphere for the walk and themed outfits are a fantastic way to get everyone to join in. If you have some ‘70’s style clothes tucked away somewhere that you are not planning to use again, please take them along to your local Iain Rennie shop who will be saving the clothes for special displays in the run up to the Walk. Flared trousers, psychedelic shirts, hot pants, sparkly and sequinned disco outfits along with typical ‘70’s wigs, jewellery and handbags. All donations are welcome and we look forward to seeing some fantastic outfits on the night."
Iain Rennie Hospice at Home shops can be found in the following towns: Beaconsfield, Downley, Flackwell Heath, High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead (Bennettsgate, Warners End and the brand new Grovehill shop opening on 6 May in Henry Wells Square), Holmer Green, Little Chalfont, Princes Risborough and Tring.
