We are calling on all Goodnight Walkers to get into the party spirit and dress up in ‘70’s style – but platform shoes get the boot!. We’ve teamed up with local, independent sports shop Hawkinsport & Son to make sure that you can party on in comfort on 18 June. All Goodnight Walkers are invited to find out what their own personal walking and running style is by visiting the Hawkinsport shop.
The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home is calling on people to dig out and donate all their old ‘70’s clothing and accessories to provide outfits for the hundreds of walkers in its fifth annual Goodnight Walk.
Taking place in Amersham at midnight on Saturday 18th June, the Goodnight Walk this year is aiming to be the biggest ‘70’s Party in the Chilterns and IRHH are calling on the public to donate either genuine ‘70’s gear or unwanted fancy dress outfits to Iain Rennie shops throughout the region.
The fifth and final midnight walk through Amersham in aid of Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) on 18th June will offer two routes through the new and old town and surrounding areas. Walkers will have the choice of a 10-mile route or a 5-mile option.
Lyn Logan has chosen to keep it local and enter this year’s Goodnight Walk in Amersham on Saturday 18 June organised by Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH – part of the newly merged charity Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care). Lyn, who lives in Loudwater, has enjoyed participating in several night walks in the past including the Moonwalk in London, but this year she has once again chosen to support the IRHH home nursing service which offers local patients with life limiting illnesses the chance to spend their last days and weeks at home.
Sarah Lumb will be forgoing a valuable night’s sleep and stepping out on a 10 mile walk at midnight on Saturday 18 June when she takes part in the 5th Goodnight Walk organised by local charity Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH – part of the newly merged charity Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care). Rather than settling down in her comfortable bed at home in Chalfont St Giles, Sarah will be pounding the streets of Amersham to raise money to help fund the home nursing service offered by IRHH to those patients in the local area diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses.
On the night of Saturday 18 June 2011 disco fever will come to Amersham as Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) holds its fifth annual Goodnight Walk and this year the event will be staged as the biggest ‘70’s party in the Chilterns. Hundreds of walkers will don their flares, hot pants, wigs and whacky shirts to walk through the night to raise money for the IRHH nursing service.
